The Famous Grouse

The Famous Grouse is a well-known brand of blended Scotch whisky produced by The Edrington Group in Scotland. It was first created by Matthew Gloag & Son in 1896 and has since become one of Scotland's most popular whiskies. The blend is believed to  include single malt whiskies from Highland Park and The Macallan. It has since been sold to William Grant & Sons at the end of 2024.

The Famous Grouse is known for its smooth and versatile character, making it a favourite for both neat sipping and mixing in cocktails. The whisky has a golden amber colour and offers aromas of dried fruit, soft spices like cinnamon and ginger, and a hint of oak. On the palate, you'll find flavours of candied fruits, buttery Scottish shortbread, and zingy citrus, with a smooth and balanced finish.

The brand has several variants, including The Black Grouse, which has a smokier profile, and The Snow Grouse, which is designed to be served chilled. The Famous Grouse has been Scotland's best-selling whisky for over 40 years and continues to be a beloved choice for whisky enthusiasts around the world.
