Flora and Fauna Whisky Collection

A tribute to Scotland’s lesser-known distilleries, the Flora and Fauna range showcases single malts that are rarely released as official bottlings. Introduced in the 1990s by United Distillers (now Diageo), this collection allows whisky enthusiasts to explore unique expressions from distilleries traditionally dedicated to blending.

Featuring distilleries such as Blair Athol, Dailuaine, Linkwood, and Benrinnes, each bottle offers an insight into distinct regional styles, from sherry-rich Highlands to delicate and floral Speyside malts. Bottled at optimal strength and often presented in their natural form, these whiskies provide a rare opportunity to experience hidden gems within Scotch whisky production.

Though some releases remain available, many have become highly sought-after collector’s items, making the Flora and Fauna range a must for whisky connoisseurs looking to uncover Scotland’s hidden distilling heritage.

Teaninich

Founded in 1817 by Hugh Munro, Teaninich Distillery is a historic Highland whisky producer located in Alness, Scotland. Known for its fragrant, grassy character, Teaninich has played a vital role in Scotch whisky production for over 200 years.

Unlike most distilleries, Teaninich uses a mash filter instead of a traditional mash tun, producing an ultra-clear wort that enhances its light, floral, and slightly oily texture. This unique process contributes to its distinctive profile, often described as having notes of green tea and bison grass.

Owned by Diageo, Teaninich primarily produces whisky for blending, including contributions to Johnnie Walker Red Label. While official single malt releases are rare, independent bottlers occasionally showcase its exceptional spirit.

Over the years, Teaninich has undergone multiple expansions, including the addition of six new stills in 1970 and a dark grains plant in 1975. In 2013, Diageo announced plans for further development, reinforcing Teaninich’s status as a key player in Scotch whisky production.
